The gospel is the good news of what God has done in Christ to save sinners. It is not advice. It is not a moral system. It is the announcement of salvation.
The Bible says plainly:
“All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23)
Every one of us has broken God’s law. We deserve His judgment.
“The wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23)
We cannot save ourselves. But God, in His mercy, sent His Son.
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)
Christ died for sinners.
“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)
His death was not an accident. He bore the curse we deserved.
“Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us.” (Galatians 3:13)
And He rose again.
“He was delivered over because of our transgressions, and was raised because of our justification.” (Romans 4:25)
Now He calls every person everywhere to repent and believe.
“The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.” (Mark 1:15)
This is not optional.
“Unless you repent, you will all likewise perish.” (Luke 13:3)
Salvation is not by works. It is not by good intentions.
“By grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.” (Ephesians 2:8–9)
Faith means resting in Christ alone. His finished work, His death, His resurrection.
“Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved.” (Acts 16:31)
This gospel is certain.
“Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” (Romans 10:13)
The question is whether you bow now to Christ the Lord, or meet Him in judgment.
“If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9)
Semper Reformanda
Some say, “I’m a good person, so God will accept me.” But Scripture says, “By the works of the Law no flesh will be justified in His sight” (Romans 3:20). Others think, “Faith is just saying a prayer.” Yet Jesus warns: “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father” (Matthew 7:21). True faith is living, repentant, obedient trust in Christ, not empty words.
Truth That Withstands
The gospel is simple and unchanging. Christ died for our sins, He was buried, He was raised on the third day (1 Corinthians 15:3–4). God commands all people everywhere to repent and believe in Him. To those who do, there is full forgiveness and eternal life. To those who refuse, only judgment remains. Today is the day of salvation. Turn and live.
